Rest In His Arms

Incorporated in the State of Illinois, Rest in His Arms is a 501 (c) (3) non-for-profit organization dedicated to providing Christian funerals and burials for abandoned babies. Formed in September 2005, the men and women of Rest in His Arms have provided the final act of dignity and respect for seventeen children in the Chicagoland area.

By spiritually adopting these infants, Rest in His Arms arranges final services that proclaim that these children are precious - even if they only lived for one minute. Allowed to provide each child with a name, none of “our” babies are forgotten about as a “John Doe.” Each child is lovingly laid to rest and sent home to the open and comforting arms of our Creator.
Sadly, Rest in His Arms is a much needed organization as there are approximately 20 babies illegally abandoned each year in the state of Illinois. But it does not have to be this way. The Illinois Abandoned Newborn Infant Protection Act (called “The Safe Haven Law”) allows parents to leave infants up to seven days old in the arms of staff at any fire or police station or hospital or emergency medical center. Provided that the child has not been harmed, parents cannot be prosecuted for abandonment, and in fact, no questions will be asked. Babies left in Safe Havens receive medical care and then can be adopted into loving families and given a chance at life.
Until more people know about the alternatives to illegal abandonment, Rest in His Arms will continue to mourn for each life lost and ensure that these innocent little ones will not be forgotten.
To contribute funds to Rest in His Arms, offer to volunteer, or simply find out more information, please contact us via email at GraciesMom@comcast.net. Donations can also be sent directly to our account at Harris Bank, Attn: Brandon Tran, 1190 North McHenry Road, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. PLEASE see the "Our Babies" tab for information on each of "our" children

A memorial Mass will be offered to remember infants and children who have died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, childhood illness, abortion and other causes. This Mass of the Angels will be held at St. Edna’s Parish, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. All are welcome to attend as we pray for, grieve, and remember the little lives lost which have been so dear to us.
